(Historical fiction)

Les Éditeurs Réunis, 2022, 392 p., ISBN: 978-2-89783-365-7

Métis, 1914. Aimeline Beaupré, eighteen years old, lives in the shadow of her sister, the frivolous and capricious Violette. More reserved than her older sister, she shudders delightfully every time Darren McNeil, with whom she is in love, lays eyes on her. But Darren has plans for the future, and even though he struggles to contain the impulses of his heart, falling in love with his neighbor is not one of them. At the beginning of the summer, the seductive worker leaves the coastal village to work on the maintenance of the Victoria Bridge in Montreal, leaving the sweet Aimeline on the edge of her seat.

The young woman is immediately courted by Leopold Gauthier, her father's apprentice. Nevertheless, if the devoted farmer is particularly enterprising towards her, she is unable to chase Darren from her thoughts. As one twist of fate follows another, Aimeline will be caught in strong gusts of wind that will lead her to the edge of danger. Will she be able to hold on to her hopes, sometimes tenuous, sometimes foolish, whose intoxicating breath keeps her from drifting?

The Heartbreaker - Great Passions in History

(Historical novel)

Éditions Monarque, 2022, 338p., ISBN: 978-2-89818-091-0

Nothing let predict that Henry VIII would be one day king of England. Especially not at the age of 17, all the more so as he was the second in line to the throne. However, this is what happened on April 21, 1509. Unprepared for the task, he relied at first on the shoulders of his Privy Council to rule the kingdom, preferring to spend his days hunting, amusing himself, playing and feasting. He had a cheerful nature and was exuberant and extravagant, spending lavishly. Then, little by little, the young man who aroused the admiration of all turned into a despot.

With his excessive pride and angry temper, Henry soon became obsessed with one desire: to have a son. A megalomaniac, he married six times, with each of his wives suffering a tragic fate. However, he adored his first wife, Catherine of Aragon...

From being a pious king, he was quickly vilified, especially since he did not hesitate to use those around him to achieve his goals, even going so far as to turn the entire kingdom upside down.

A true tyrant, Henry VIII showed no mercy towards his family members, friends, court nobles or churchmen, and it was even worse for those he considered his enemies... How far did he go to have a son?
